DefenseGod May 11 (UPI) — Microsoft’s new Edge browser based on Chromium was officially released in January, and Microsoft also announced that it will automatically push the new browser to Windows 10 users through a standalone Windows Update.
For Windows 10 version 1909 (updated november 2019), the new Edge browser is already available through the Insider channel. Now, the new Chromium version of The Edge is being rolled out for Windows 10 version 2004, and it has been reported that the Update for Windows 10 2004 features will be released on May 28.
Microsoft is currently rolling out a Windows 10 KB4559309 patch to install a new Edge browser on a PC in Windows 10 version 2004.
This seems to be the first phase of a gradual push, with the Chromium version of The Edge being rolled out to a small number of users. With the push of Windows 10 2004 Preview Windows Update, the browser will continue to scale to each user.
A restart is required to install a stand-alone package. When the system is restarted, Windows 10 will automatically launch the new Edge browser.
Pc Pepsi.com cautions that you should also note that if you install a new version of Chromium Edge through Windows Update Push, you cannot delete it.
After the release of the Windows 10 version 2004 update, the new Edge browser is available to more consumers. Microsoft says Windows 10 Enterprise and Education users will not automatically get the browser.
